JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks rose at the opening session amid declines in Asia due to lack of solid progress in U.S. debt ceiling negotiations.The Jakarta Composite Index advanced 0.02%, or 0.93 point, to 4,146.76 lead by finance and mining shares.At the early trading, JCI continued with its gains. As of 9.38 a.m., JCI increased 0.23%, or 9.47 points, to 4,155.30. JCI moved at the range of 4,146.48-4,160.50. About one share fell for every one share up. More than a half of the shares traded were unchanged.The increase in JCI was motored by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk which contributed 2.36 points to the index, PT United Tractors Tbk 1.53 points, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk 1.43 points and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk 1.35 points.The stocks hampered the movement of JCI were PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk with had minus 0.71 point, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk with minus 0.28 point, PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk minus 0.27 point, and PT Bakrie Telecom Tbk minus 0.17 point.BISNIS-27 Index, the index of 27 stocks launched by business daily newspaper dubbed Bisnis Indonesia, rose 0.35%, or 1.24 points to 360.35.Meanwhile, Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.51% to 12,240.11.16, S&P 500 Index declined 0.32% to 1,300.67 and Nasdaq Composite Index increased 0.05% to 2,766.25.From regional market, Nikkei 225 declined 0.08% to 9,893.71, Hang Seng in Hong Kong market fell 1.02% to 22,340.25, Shanghai SE slipped 0.10% to 2,705.14, South Korean's Kospi decreased 0.20% to 2,150.73 and Straits Times in Singapore slipped 0.10% to 3,186.27.The MSCI Asia Pacific Index declined 0.82% to 3,186.27.The rupiah traded decreased 0.12% against the US dollar at IDR8,504.
