JAKARTA: PT Tambang Batu Bara Asam Tbk is projected to book IDR1.5 trillion net profit or 65.18% higher than IDR908.11 billion on the same period last year.The higher profit is boosted by bigger revenue to more than IDR5 trillion in the first half, President Director Sukrisno told Bisnis.The PTBA-coded shares revenue increased more than 31.93% from IDR3.79 trillion on the same period last year. Sales volume also increased 44.44% to 6.5 million ton from 4.5 million ton in the first half of 2010.Referring to the first half achievement, the company optimist it could achieve the targeted net profit at IDR3 trillion. The state-controlled enterprise booked IDR2.01 trillion net profit in 2010.This year revenue is projected to reach IDR11 trillion, 39.08% higher than IDR7.91 trillion in 2010.With such gain in the first half, we optimist our bottom line target at IDR3 trillion and IDR11 trillion revenue will be achievable.Up to March 2011, PTBA booked IDR2.32 trillion or 29.98% higher than IDR1.78 trillion in IQ/2010, profit for the period skyrocket 108.07% to IDR760.92 billion from IDR373.03 billion.Based on Bisnis data, regarding its partnership with PT Kereta Api, PTBA will obtain 5-6 new locomotives and 40 wagons to transport coal in July and August.Total transported coal in 2011 is estimated to reach 13.6 million ton while sale and production are projected to reach respectively 16.7 million ton and 17.6 million ton.As much as 65% of the production is sold to meet domestic needs while the remaining for export to Japan, Malaysia, India and China, Corporate Secretary Achmad Sudarto told Bisnis.
