NUSA DUA, Bali: Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia, a non-governmental entrepreneurs organization, plans to establish Angel Investor Networking immediately to support Indonesian startup entrepreneurs in developing their business.Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, a GEPI founder and Managing Director of Sintesa Group, confirmed that 13 founders of GEPI will meet to establish Angel Investor Networking following Regional Entrepreneurship Summit (RES) last week.After RES, GEPI, academics, government, non-governmental organizations, and companies giving great attention on entrepreneurship in Indonesia should be synergized each other in order to create strong entrepreneurship ecosystem in Indonesia, he said at the end of last week.Angel Investor Networking should be created soon to drive up startup entrepreneurs in developing their business, said Chairman of Central Board of Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) Erwin Aksa.The association is ready to contribute to be angel investor with other founders of GEPI. In term of entrepreneurship, dont be individualists. If, we cooperate, thus Indonesian economic growth can be extraordinary.Alternative FinancingCo-founder of Saratoga Capital Sandiaga Uno also said that the government should learn from US how to create angel investor that wants to facilitate startup entrepreneurs.There is no angel investor in Indonesia, whereas, it can be an alternative financing to help startup business gradually for having access to banks, Sandi added.Our entrepreneurs can be successful, if they are supported by great ecosystem including financing facility. Therefore, the government must create a good business climate to improve stratup entrepreneurs to higher level.Totally, there are 52 million micro, small, and medium enterprises which will grow to 15% by this year. The growth isnt considered by their achievement, but there are many enterprises which cant upgrade their level.Later, angel investor and venture capital can upgrade the micro-business players to be small and medium enterprises, Sandi continued.Thats a direct learning for all of us how US can be a leader in global entrepreneurship.(t01/msw)
